Acerca del evento

Wine, art, and jazz aficionados, take note. FlorenceFest is back for its third consecutive year and its offerings keep getting better.

FlorenceFest ’19 happens at the Florence Events Center from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, and from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, with a dozen select Oregon boutique wineries, seven top-level jazz acts, and an invitational art show and sale.

Advance tickets are $20 for Friday and $25 for Saturday. Tickets are available exclusively at the Florence Events Center, 715 Quince St. in Florence, or at EventCenter.org. Tickets are limited in number and, if available at the door, will be an additional $3 each. Admission is restricted to adults 21.

12 Boutique Wineries Represent Oregon’s Best Regions

“It will be like touring a dozen of the best wineries’ tasting rooms you’ve been wanting to try, but all in one location,” says event producer Jon Thompson.

“Each day’s admission price gets you six free wine tastings and a FlorenceFest wine glass. It's a perfect opportunity to purchase wine by the glass, bottle, or case from 12 carefully selected Oregon wineries,” says Thompson. “We’ll have a great diversity of reds, whites, blends, favorite vintages, and table wines for sampling from all the best regions in Oregon.”

Wineries include Oregon’s Hanson Vineyards, J Scott Cellars, Sineann, HV Cellars, Cardwell Hill Cellars, Troon Vineyard, Kramer Vineyard, Upper Five Vineyard, Valcan Cellars, Compton Family Wines with Spindrift Cellars, Apolloni Vineyards, and Johan Vineyard.

Music From Across the Jazz Spectrum

Friday’s musical lineup includes the extraordinary jazz guitarist Sunny Sundstrom, the blues/funk/rock of the Inner Limits Band, and Portland funkmasters Farnell Newton & The Othership Connection as the headliner. Saturday’s lineup features the unique vocal stylings of Maree Beers and her quartet, the cool Brazilian-jazz of the Kerry Politzer Trio, the eclectic blend of 50’s and 60’s jazz and Latin flavors of The Flat Nines, and headliner Soul Vaccination.

“The biggest change for this year is extending Saturday's hours and getting out the dance floor for Saturday’s headliner, Soul Vaccination, one of the tightest funk and soul groups in the Pacific Northwest. This year’s admission is less than you’d pay at most places to see the headliners alone,” adds Thompson.

Art Selected From Across the Country

For the price of admission, attendees get seven excellent music acts, wine tasting, and the remarkable quality of the nearly 60 juried art entries from 180 submissions. Entries came from all over Oregon and four additional states, says art coordinator Harlen Springer of the Florence Area Arts Alliance. Awards will be given in three categories—2-D, 3-D, and photography—with a total of $2,500 in prize money on the line. There will also be a “People's Choice” award based on attendees’ votes. All artwork will be for sale.
