FRESHWATER DOLPHIN DAY

Join the American Cetacean Society – Oregon Chapter for our Freshwater Dolphin Day event on Saturday, October 24th, 2026, from 10 AM to 4 PM. The event will be held at the Oregon Coast Aquarium, located at 2820 SE Ferry Slip Rd in Newport, and is included in your aquarium admission.

International Freshwater Dolphin Day is officially observed on October 24th of each year to recognize, learn about, and spread awareness of these cetaceans who usually receive far less attention than their oceanic relatives. American Cetacean Society volunteers will be on-site to introduce you to these unique animals. Complement your visit to the Amazon River Basin exhibit by finding out about the dolphins that inhabit the river in the wild!
